Stettler is a town in Alberta, Canada, with a population of approximately 5500. The town is about 45 minutes east of Red Deer along Highway 12. The town is located in the eastern region of central Alberta, and coined "The Heart of Alberta".
The town has three schools in the Clearview school district: Stettler Elementary School, Stettler Middle School, and Wm. E. Hay High School, as well as the Christ King Catholic school. It is home to Alberta Prairie Railway Excursions, a popular tourist attraction delivering rail tours to visitors from around the world. The town also serves as a commercial hub for several smaller communities in the area, serving a population of approx 30,000. The main industries in the area consist of petroleum, agriculture, and tourism.
