Steady flow is a type of liquid flow in which

• The liquid flow is smooth and uniform.
• The velocity of the fluid at a point remains constant .
• The streamlines do not cross each other.

The Reynolds number can be used to determine the state of fluid flow.

R_e < 1000 - Steady Flow

1000 < R_e < 2000 - Unsteady Flow

R_e > 2000 - Turbulent Flow
