The Republic or Republic can refer to:
- Writings
- The Republic by Plato, see Republic (Plato)
- The Republic by Cicero, see: De re publica
- Six livres de la république a.k.a. La République (1577) is sometimes referred to as Bodin's Republic, although it is equally known under the title of its first English translation (1606): Six Bookes of the Commonweale .
- Epochs
- The Republic was an era in Ancient Rome, between the Kingdom (ending 510 BC) and the Empire (starting 44 BC or 27 BC, depending on interpretation), see Roman Republic
- Some countries, like France and Spain had several of such epochs, so in these countries, when referring to one of these periods, The Republic has to be qualified by a number, see:
- States/Countries
- main article: List of republics
Any state or country with a form of government that for one or another reason is qualified a "republic" can be referred to as The Republic, e.g. The Republic (of Macedonia), The Republic (of Congo), etc... Similarly the French, when using the word "Republic" to refer to their country, they just say The (French) Republic without mentioning any numbering.
- Form of government
Several forms of government have been qualified as Republic, see republic.
- Fictional Republics
for example The (Galactic) Republic from Star Wars
- Music
Republic is the the title of a 1993 New Order album.
- Notes
