Peter Corey

Peter Corey is the writer of a series of books whom titles always begin with Coping With... These books are targeted and younger people like teenagers because they are humourous. He has written other books but they are serious. He has also written scripts for many television programs and he has played roles on dramas and soaps.

Work On Camera

Peter Corey has starred in dramas and soaps. He was in Brookside for two years playing "Freddie Spence". A man who did not like the police and was outraged when his daughter, Diana, married a policeman. He was in Eastenders for six months playing "Vic the Crusher". A man who threatened to break peoples arms unless they gave him money. Peter also played the original next door neighbour in One Foot in the Grave.

In lesser known TV dramas, he got arrested in London's Burning and died in Hornblower. He has starred in Harry's Mad, Sooty Heights, The Bill and No Sweat plus many more. During his acting career, Peter Corey has worked with many well-known people including Frank Skinner, Steve Coogan, Jack Dee and Richard Blackwood .

Work For The Camera

He has written scripts for many dramas on television. All in all, he has written 250 hours of television. A few programs he has written for are Bob the Builder, Rainbow, Sooty, Saturday Superstore , The Big Spot, The DJ Kat Show, Number 73, Your Mother Wouldn't Like It and Palace Hill. Palace Hill was the reason why Corey started writing books. His first book was Palace Hill the book.

Work On Stage

He has written over 40 scripts and stage plays. He started writing 30 years ago and has managed to write 15 books on top of the plays. One of his plays is an adaptation of Spike Milligan's Badjelly the Witch.

Awards

His Coping With... series has been very successful and he has spawned eight TV programmes. These programmess have helped him win four BAFTA awards plus another, which he says "looks like a plastic football," and many more.
