Orca Inlet

Orca Inlet is an arm of Prince William Sound in southern Alaska, at (60.539206, -145.702230).

Location of Cordova, Alaska

The Copper River flows into the inlet at Cordova, on its east side.

Fishing, logging and tourism, including the viewing of orcas, are industries in the area.

The inlet was named Puerto Córdova by the Spanish explorer, Don Salvador Fidalgo, in 1790. The town of Cordova got its name from the inlet in 1906, but the name of the inlet was changed to Orca Inlet in the late 1900s.
