Odette Bancilhon was a French astronomer, active in the 1930s and 1940s at Algiers Observatory . All her publications are signed O. Bancilhon, a current practice back then.

She discovered the asteroid 1333 Cevenola .

She later married her colleague A. Schmitt (between 1940 and 1948) and was known as O. Schmitt-Bancilhon.

The asteroid 1713 Bancilhon is named after her.
