FREESCO

FREESCO (stands for FREE ciSCO) is a free replacement for commercial routers supporting up to 10 ethernet/arcnet/token_ring/arlan network cards and up to 10 modems.

It is a floppy based router, which means that the entire system will run from a 1,44 Mb floppy disk. It is also possible to run it from memory only, so there will be no disk activity at all. FREESCO will work on any low-spec IBM compatible PC ('i386 compatible spec or higher) and can be optionally installed to a hard disk.

It is Linux-based, using a 2.0.40 Linux kernel (or 2.0.39).
