The Cunningham project aims to find factors of large numbers of the form bn ± 1 for b = 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12 and large exponents n. The project is named after Allan Joseph Champneys Cunningham, who published the first version of the table together with H.J. Woodall in 1925. Sometimes it is referred to as one of the oldest continuously ongoing activities in computational number theory.

The Brent-Montgomery-te Riele table forms an extension to the Cunningham tables, for 13 < b < 1000.
