Chen's theorem

Chen's theorem was first stated by Chinese mathematician Chen Jingrun in 1966, with further details of the proof in 1973. The theorem states that every large even number is the sum of a prime and a semiprime, which may be denoted as "1 + 2". Chen's theorem is a giant step towards the Goldbach conjecture, and a remarkable result of the sieve methods.

The proof of the theorem may be found in [1].
