Autoanalyzer

In medicine, an autoanalyzer is a diagnostic machine that measures amounts of several chemicals in a single sample of blood.

Autoanalyzers typically record levels of albumin, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate transaminase (AST), blood urea nitrogen, bilirubin, calcium, cholesterol, creatinine, glucose, inorganic phosphorus, proteins and uric acid.

Widely used autoanalyzers include Berkman's Astra, Dupont's Automated Clinical Analyzer, Kodak's Ektachem 700, and Technicon's Multiple Analyzer and Multiple Sequential Screening Panel.

Chemical information extracted from blood is used to aid in the diagnosis of several diseases.
