"The Day Mobotropolis Fell."


An underground cult movie taken from the popular SatAM Sonic the Hedgehog TV series. It is edited from the episodes "Blast to the Past Parts 1 & 2," "Sonic Conversion" and "Spy Hog." The story depicts Dr. Robotnik's rise to power as he overthrows the city of Mobotropolis and takes over the distant planet of Mobius, as well as the disgrace and ultimate redemption of Sir Charles Hedgehog, Sonic's Uncle Chuck.

The story opens in the year 3235 on Mobius where the Freedom Fighters suffer another defeat at the hands of Robotnik's forces. Sonic and Princess Sally opt to take more drastic measures, and through the use of two magic time stones, "Blast to the Past" in hopes of stopping Robotnik's takeover of Mobotropolis. There, they learn that Sonic's Uncle Chuck was responsible for the creation of the roboticizer, a device that turns individuals into robots. Although he had intended for the project to enable older people to live longer, Chuck abandoned it when test subjects began losing their free will. The rest of the story traces his fall and eventual redemption.

The other known unofficial "SatAM" movie in existence is Sonic the Hedgehog The Movie: The Doomsday Project. They are presently on both VHS and DVD format.
